Grand Shanghai Circus at the Grand

The Grand Shanghai Circus will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St., on Jan. 22. Agroforestry in Practice: Adding Perennials to the Farmscape Workshop

The Kentucky State University Research and Demonstration Farm will host Agroforestry in Practice: Adding Perennials to the Farmscape Workshop from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the farm located at 1525 Mills Lane. Native perennial plantings can reduce erosion, pest, weed and wind challenges; create pollinator and wildlife habitat, enhance farm aesthetics for farmers and agritourism and add product diversity to farms. Cedric O. Burnside coming to Frankfort

Cedric O. Burnside, an American electric blues guitarist, drummer, singer and songwriter, will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St., on Feb. 14. Burnside is the son of blues drummer Calvin Jackson and grandson of blues singer, songwriter and guitarist R. L. Burnside.

Scholarship Chili and Silent Auction fundraiser

The Franklin County Democratic Woman’s Club will host a Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction from 5-7 p.m. at The Foundry on Broadway, 317 W. Broadway St. Funds raised will help support the club’s $2,000 scholarship for high school seniors attending a Kentucky university. Gangstagrass at the Grand

Gangstagrass will perform at the 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St. Gangstagrass is an American bluegrass and hip hop group, most known for the theme song of the FX television show “Justified.” The group is founded and led by Brooklyn producer Rench, and combines authentic bluegrass and rap into a new genre.
