Springtime Train Rides
Dive into the heart of Kentucky’s springtime splendor aboard the Bluegrass Railroad Museum’s scenic train adventure. Exploring Early Frankfort Furniture
The Frankfort Heritage Lecture Series will present Exploring Early Frankfort, Kentucky Furniture & Decorative Inlay In Early Kentucky Furniture from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Paul Sawyier Public Library, 319 Wapping St. Mack Cox, researcher and collector of early Kentucky-made furniture, will be the speaker. Mama Said String Band at Ama On The Creek
Mama Said String Band will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Ama On The Creek, 3866 Georgetown Road. Delivering a refreshing reinvention of sounds once forgotten through their own brand of grassroots, Mama Said String Band has been making an impact on the Bluegrass Scene & beyond since their debut in 2016. Based out of Louisville, Kentucky, Mama Said String Band is a four-piece collection of songwriters and players, David O’Neal, Katie “Didit” Caudill, Kaitlen Farmer and Kris Potts. Each member brings a unique perspective with backgrounds spanning multiple cultures, genres and styles. Together they draw influences from Bluegrass, Folk and Americana while focusing on vocal harmonies and contemporary instrumentation to build an eclectic, eurythmic melody and tactfully delivered message. 18th Annual Pony Car Roundup
The 18th Annual Pony Car Roundup will take place at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Capital City Airport, 90 Airport Road. All cars are welcome. The entry fee for spectators is $20. Goody bags will be given to the first 100 cars. Awards will be given to the Top 20. There will also be specialty wards. Stunt Dogs will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St. The Perondis and their cast of human performers and dogs will delight audiences of all ages.
