When it comes to finding a local financial institution you can trust, Kentucky Employees Credit Union has been serving its members for 80 years.
Unlike conventional banks who aid customers, KECU supports its member-owners, whom they know by name, said mortgage loan officer Sid Dailey.
“KECU provides one-on-one personal service,” Dailey said. “When you work with us, you’re working with real people.”
A Frankfort native, Dailey has more than 15 years of real estate experience and ensures the path to homeownership will be a smooth one for all members.
“Some people find homebuying or investing in real estate daunting, especially if they’ve never done it before,” Morgan Saylor, director of marketing and business development. “Sid makes sure members have their needs met and questions answered all along the way.”
KECU offers several varieties of housing and real estate loans including:
- Conventional mortgage, which provides homebuyers with the opportunity for a fixed principal and interest payment for the entire term, up to 30 years, with some qualifying for as little as a 5 percent down payment;
- Rural housing, which offers 100 percent financing for those who qualify, subject to approval based on location and household income;
- Federal Housing Administration (FHA), which permits qualified homebuyers to put as little as 3.5 percent down;
- Commercial real estate, for those interested in rental-generated investment properties, can be financed up to 80 percent loan-to-value; and
- Second mortgage, which can be financed for up to 100 percent, for those who qualify.
“For those looking to put their mortgage to work for them, we offer a home equity line of credit up to 100 percent of the value of the home,” said Dailey, a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University. “We are not sales-driven, we are service-driven.”
With the focus shifted from “how many” to “how well,” Dailey says staff at KECU are ready to help with all housing needs.
“The best part of my job is watching people achieve their dreams or owning a home, whether it’s their first home purchase or their first rental property,” Dailey added. “It’s about bringing a person’s imaginings into fruition and knowing that we helped them along the way.”
Located at 100 Moore Dr., off the East-West Connector and across from the Franklin County Health Dept., KECU offers memberships to more people now than ever before, including those who live, work or worship in Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Bullitt, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Henry, Jefferson, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Oldham, Powell, Scott, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble and Woodford counties as well as any public sector employee or family member of an existing member.
“We have never sold a loan to another mortgage company,” Saylor said. We want our members to know they can always come to us for solutions. Our tagline for many years has been, ‘Real financial solutions for real people,’ and this is very much true and our members will attest to it.”
