Celebrate the Run for the Roses with historic Kentucky traditions and family activities from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Broadway Street. Kentucky Historical Society joins community partners for the Downtown Derby Celebration in historic downtown Frankfort. Activities are free.

Dive into the heart of Kentucky’s springtime splendor aboard the Bluegrass Railroad Museum’s scenic train adventure. Witness the beauty of horse country unfold before your eyes, where fields may reveal mares frolicking with their adorable foals. The museum is located at 175 Beasley Road in Versailles. Boarding begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. departure. Arrive early to explore the historic museum exhibits, interactive model railroads, and fascinating on-ground displays. Join in the River Rat Run
Experience the scenic beauty of River View Park as you lace up your running shoes for the exhilarating River Rat Run starting from the iconic Ward Oates Amphitheatre, 404 Wilkinson Blvd. Follow the winding path along the river, passing vibrant color stations that add an extra splash of excitement to your journey. Once you reach the halfway point at Limewater Restaurant, turn back and head toward the amphitheater for the grand finale. Indulge in delicious treats from food trucks, celebrate with fellow runners at the awards ceremony and dive into post-race activities for a memorable conclusion to your racing adventure.
