Symphonic Stroll

Back for the fourth year in a row, join Lexington Philharmonic and Josephine Sculpture Park for Symphonic Stroll — an evening of immersive music, art and nature. LexPhil, in partnership with JSP, are excited to present this inclusive, all-ages experience once again following the sold-out event last year. Choose between two entry times, 4 p.m. or 5 p.m., and explore at your own pace until 8 p.m. featuring live music, interactive music activities and local food trucks. Coffee With Cats & Donuts With Dogs

What better way to start off your weekend than getting some lovin’ from our cats and dogs? On the second Saturday of each month, make plans to visit the L.I.F.E. House for Animals anytime between 10-11 a.m. to enjoy “Coffee With Cats & Donuts With Dogs.” You can relax in the lobby and meet adoptable cats. Each room will be let out to play for 10-15 minutes so you can meet all of the cats available for adoption. Or, come down to the play yard where we’ll have tables and chairs set up on the concrete areas. We’ll let out different dogs to meet, greet and play with everyone. No registration is required. Walk-ins are welcome. The event is kid-friendly and family-friendly.

Family Movie Night at the Museum

Family Movie Night at the Museum is back with the third and final installment of the Night at the Museum trilogy, “Secret of the Tomb!” Activities include historic yard games, board games and sweet or savory popcorn offerings, then cozy up under the stars in your favorite blankets and folding chairs for the movie. The film will begin at approximately 8 p.m. This is a rain-or-shine event. In case of inclement weather, it will take place inside the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History. The event is free for members and $5 for non-members. Children 5 and under are free. RSVP at history.ky.gov.

Beasts of the Bluegrass Tour

On this tour, you are immersed in stories of beasts terrifying, eerie and all around you. Suspend reality and open your expectations of what is possible by learning about the werewolves and other creatures, which lurk throughout the Kentucky wilderness. Reservations required. The tour will begin at 7 p.m. at Leslie Morris Park at Fort Hill, 400 Clifton Ave. Additional tour dates are Sept. 27, Oct. 4, 11 and 25. Pumpkin Patch Trains

It’s that enchanting time of year again. Pumpkin Patch Train Rides will take place every Saturday from Sept. 28-Oct. 26. Enjoy a delightful train journey to the Kentucky River with a special stop at the Life Adventure Center pumpkin patch on the way back. There, you can pick out the perfect pumpkin for your holiday celebrations and treat yourself to some tasty refreshments. Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters

Formed in 2007, Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960s. Listening to The Boxmasters, one can hear obvious odes to the Beatles, Byrds and Beach Boys, but also important to The Boxmasters are The Mothers of Invention, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Big Star. The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair St.
