Bourbon & History Walking Tour
Join a guide for a 45-60 minute guided walking tour in historic downtown Frankfort. You will be entertained and informed as you learn about Frankfort’s rich history and spirited bourbon past. The tour is one mile in length and begins promptly at 10 a.m. in front of the Frankfort Tourism Commission office located at 300 St. Clair St. The tour is suitable for ages 16 and above. The cost is $11 per person. For groups of 10 or more, contact Visit Frankfort at 502-875-8687. Tickets for scheduled tours are available for purchase until 24 hours before the scheduled date and time. Additional tour dates are June 3, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25.

Public Art Walking Tour
Visit Frankfort invites you to explore the art in public places within the historic downtown area beginning at 2 p.m. See and discover our murals and sculptures, historic architecture, its stained-glass windows on this guided walking tour. The tour covers a distance of less than one mile and lasts about 60-minutes. Following the tour, be sure to stop inside the historic Grand Theatre to see the art exhibits in their upstairs gallery. Old-Time Music Contest

The event will be from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Kentucky Historical Society located at 100 W. Broadway St.

Living in History 16th Annual Home & Garden Tour
The Garden Club of Frankfort will host its 16th annual Living in History Home and Garden Tour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Multiple homes, including Kentucky’s only Frank Lloyd Wright house at 509 Shelby St., will be on the tour. Other homes include The Thompson house is located at 210 Old Country Lane; The Capital City Carriage House is located at 311 W. Third St.; The Yeary House is located at 505 Leawood Drive; and The Waddle Garden is located at 15 Whitebridge Lane. The Vest-Lindsey House, Kentucky Rose Garden and the Bird Sanctuary at the Capitol are also on the tour. Tickets are available at the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourist Commission office, 300 St. Clair St., or at each of the sites on the day of the tour. The cost is $20 a person. Proceeds from the tour are dedicated to community beautification projects in Frankfort and Franklin County.

Learn about American Indian communities in Kentucky
Tressa Brown, coordinator for the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, will present “Part 1: American Indian Communities in Kentucky” at 1 p.m. at the Paul Sawyier Public Library, 319 Wapping St. The event is part of the Frankfort Heritage Lecture Series. American Indian communities have been in Kentucky for more than 11,000 years. When Euro-Americans settled here, Shawnee, Cherokee, and Chickasaw, among others, already lived here. Myths and misconceptions about American Indian people permeate many sources of information. We all dispel some of the myths about native people that persist, discuss Kentucky’s native heritage, and briefly review its long history.
